Walking through a first-time install

From tap to first chaal at the table, the install is a four-stage routine. Android wording changes very slightly between OEM skins, but the underlying flow reads the same across every modern handset — Samsung's One UI, Xiaomi's HyperOS, Realme UI, OxygenOS on OnePlus, the Motorola near-stock build, and Nothing OS too.

Open Settings → Apps → [your browser] → Install unknown apps and switch Allow on for that browser. Hop back into the Files app, tap the APK again, and the install button will be live.

If the download stalls before it begins

On a small number of Indian carrier configurations the direct APK URL is throttled or blocked. Flip from mobile data over to Wi-Fi (or the other way round, whichever was not in use) and re-press the orange chip.
