• Pure Sequence — three consecutive cards of one suit, like 7-8-9 of hearts. A-2-3 of one suit is the top pure run.
• Sequence — three consecutive cards across mixed suits.
• Colour — three same-suit cards out of order. Ace-high wins colour ties.
• Pair — two of a kind plus a kicker. Higher pair wins; matched pairs are broken by the kicker.
• High Card — no other ranking applies; highest single card takes it.

The trap that catches first-week players: Pure Sequence is stronger than Colour, not the other way around. The ranking follows the rarity of the draw — a same-suit run is statistically harder to hit than three random same-suit cards.
